Origin: Lake Tanganyika, Africa

Geographic Range: Rocky shorelines and crevices of Lake Tanganyika

Diet: Herbivore; Primarily algae and biofilm. Supplement with high-quality herbivore pellets.

Average Adult Size: Around 4-6 inches (10-15 cm)

Sexual Dimorphism: Limited sexual dimorphism; males may have slightly larger and more colorful fins.

Minimum Tank Size: 55 gallons for a colony, larger for a community

Temperament: Highly territorial and can be aggressive, especially during breeding. Maintain in a species-specific tank or with other robust Tanganyikan cichlids.
