Average Adult Size: 2.75 inches
Minimum Tank Size: 29 Gallons for a pair. Multiple pairs require more space.
Temperament: Semi-aggressive. Best kept with fast moving semi-aggressive schoolers.
Recommended Water Parameters
pH:6-8
Temp: 59 to 78°f
Hardness: Unpicky, but slightly softer water is ideal
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: under 30ppm
General Notes: Ideally kept as a pair as breeding this species should be a priority. Prefers a dimly lit tank featuring large pieces of wood or branches and a sandy substrate. Plenty of caves, hides, and decorations to break line of sight will help with aggression. Can tolerate a wide range of temperatures. Filtration should be mild and the tank should not be filled all the way to allow the fish to access air with their labyrinth organ. These fish jump and require a lid.
