Description

Geographic Range: Native to Central and South America, particularly found in the streams and rivers of Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

Diet: Omnivorous; feed a varied diet including high-quality flakes, pellets, and live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia.

Average Adult Size: 6 inches (15 centimeters)

Minimum Tank Size: 30 gallons for a small group; larger tanks are recommended for a community setup.

Temperament: Generally peaceful, but can be territorial during breeding or if crowded. Best kept in a species tank or with other peaceful community fish.
